Want To Join The BRICKS Team? Become Our Digital Design Intern
We’re excited to offer a remote one-month placement for a graphic or digital designer to join our ever-expanding team and gain experience in editorial design.
BRICKS magazine is an independent, queer-led publication that is rerouting the intersections between fashion, art and our precarious social systems. For 6 years, our contributors have shared their experiences, leading to advocacy for turning battles, frustrations, and anxieties into meaningful and educational content.
Our online website, which relaunched in March 2020, is a platform we use to celebrate our creative community and amplify marginalised voices in fashion, music and the arts. This is extended through our 73k-strong social media channels.
We’re excited to offer a remote one-month placement for a graphic/digital designer. BRICKS magazine is a bi-annual print publication, and the online platform supports the publication with exclusive Digital cover stars, fashion editorials, articles and a newsletter. BRICKS is an ever-evolving publication and we want to collaborate and offer contributors an opportunity to gain experience working in an editorial team and add published work to their portfolio.
We are looking for someone to join our team who can:
Create stylish and engaging designs for social media assets
Communicate stories well in header imagery for articles
Collaborate with our Digital Editor on website design
(optional, if you’re interested in video editing then this is also available).
BRICKS Magazine is run as a labour of love by our small team and, as such, we are unable to provide compensation for this placement. This would be ideal for a student, aspiring-student or recent graduate looking to gain experience in editorial, digital and social media content creation. We’re a small team with a large network of contributors who you will work alongside. This placement is remote and can be part-time or full-time with flexible working hours.
To apply, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org the subject Digital Design Intern Application + your name. Please send a portfolio pdf, website or link to previous work + a short cover letter explaining why you’d like to join BRICKS.
This internship placement is open to ongoing applications and we’re excited to collaborate with you soon.
