SPECIAL THANKS The Hoxton Shoreditch, Hoxton Grill, Johnnie Walker & Brixton Brewery.
On Friday 9th May, the BRICKS community gathered at The Hoxton Shoreditch to meet contributors and celebrate BRICKS’ latest issue, #14 The Resilience Issue. The Hoxton opened the doors of its Apartment to BRICKS issue contributors and creative community, offering a cozy house party-style vibe for guests to gossip by the kitchen sink, dance in the dining room, delve into the magazine on comfy sofa seating in the living room area, and snack on fries from Hoxton Grill.
#14 The Resilience Issue contributor Amodeus and BRICKS community-member Grace Goslin hit the DJ decks with a pop-fuelled setlists as guests were treated to a delicious selection of cocktails courtesy of Johnnie Walker, including tangy Johnnie & Gingers, classic Johnnie Walker Old Fashioneds and a new refreshing canned cocktail, Johnnie Walker Scotch Whisky and Lemonade, alongside a selection of beers from Brixton Brewery.
Guests included Heartstopper actor and musician Will Gao, musician Nxdia, illustrator Bee Illustrates, musician Nell Mescal, fashion designers Maximilian Raynor, Masha Popova and Ethan Leyland, and musician, viral makeup artist and BRICKS digital cover star Abby Roberts with David Lammond.
“This was such a special night,” says BRICKS editor and founder, Tori West. “Communicating with many issue contributors over email, it’s so important for us to create a physical space where our creative community can connect and celebrate their work together. I’m grateful to The Hoxton Shoreditch, Johnnie Walker and Brixton Brewery for providing us this space and refreshments to celebrate our issue launch in style, and to everyone who has supported BRICKS over the last – I can’t believe I’m saying this – 11 years and 14 issues!”
