On Wednesday 22nd November, BRICKS Editor-in-Chief Tori West and Deputy Editor Madeline Reid hosted the magazine’s contributors and friends at Dalston-based gallery Have A Butchers to celebrate the launch of the magazine’s latest issue.

The Age Issue features 192 pages of fashion editorials, talent interviews and features, including investigations into the pressures on Black women to age gracefully, the importance of letting queer and trans people tell their own stories, and a celebration of 30 years of the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN talent incubator. Spotlighted artists include photographer Bex Day and L’Oréal Professionnel Young Talent Prize-winning designer, Eden Tan

On the cover, 91-year-old model and muse Andrés García-Carro, better known as The Spanish King, shares the joys of his creative partnership with his granddaughter, fashion photographer Celine Van Heel. Elsewhere, futuristic fashion is celebrated via Bence Borbely’s balloon dress cover, while rising star flowerovlove gets candid about navigating teenagehood on a global stage.

Contributors include style purveyor Magda Kaczmarska, TikTok fashion commentator Benji Park, art curatorial platform Diet Paratha, Zebedee Talent Agency, art writer and curator Isabella Bonner-Evans, journalist Rebecca Jane Hill, and disabilities advocate Ryan Zaman

Have A Butches offers a unique combination of bibelots, art books, vintage magazines and fine art prints, and has asserted itself as a young contender with a playful vision in the art world. The gallery works closely with artists to curate, produce and host special exhibitions & events with a focus on photography. Inclusivity and involvement in both the creative & LGBTQ+ community are at the heart of HAB.
