London Fashion Week regular Eudon Choi frequently draws his inspiration from history and architecture, and this season was no different. For AW24, the designer paid homage to the ancient city of Pompeii and its decaying architecture. Playing with form and layering, structural jackets and suit trousers were juxtaposed with luxurious cashmere, wool and velvet.

Throughout the collection, Choi honoured the city’s vibrant history and its ruined remains in equal measure. Tiered tops mimicked layers of sandstone and plaster that still stands, exposed among piles of rubble. The designer discovered the collection’s colour palette from the muted hues of a patinated fresco on one of the ancient Roman city’s walls, in shades of sage, sky blue and blush. Elsewhere, earthy tones of khaki and brown emulated the eroded bricks that protected such works of art from the ash of the eruption in 79AD.
In his AW24 collection, Choi has effortlessly combined his masculine tailoring with a feminine sensibility through his efforts to find beauty among destruction. Below, see more from behind the scenes at the LFW runway show.
