What to Expect From 080 Barcelona Fashion’s 35th Edition

The biannual Barcelona fashion event presents exciting collections from its twenty-four designers, promising an inspiring week full of creativity, collaboration, and celebration

080 Barcelona Fashion has established itself as a dynamic alternative to the traditional ‘big four’ fashion weeks. Renowned for its unique character and innovative energy, the event consistently showcases local designers that are fashioning the future by pushing against rigid boundaries within the industry; all against the backdrop of the stunning Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau.

Running from April 1st to April 4th 2025, this year’s edition continues to champion creativity while remaining committed to sustainability and diversity. Rather than following global trends, 080 Barcelona Fashion grounds itself as a standalone celebration of art – a hub of emerging talent and bold ideas situated as a vital force in contemporary fashion.

Ahead of its latest edition, BRICKS selects the four stand-out designers to watch this season.

DOMINNICO

DOMINNICO, a genderless label founded in 2016 by Domingo Rodríguez Lázaro, is celebrated for its meticulous pattern-making and progressive vision. With a strong commitment to inclusion and sustainability, the label sources old stock fabrics from various regions of Catalonia and recycles materials such as denim and fur. Known for dressing musical icons Rosalía and Beyoncé, DOMINNICO continually offers captivating and provoking designs. Speaking to BRICKS last season, Lázaro shared: “With every collection, I feel like I’m constantly discovering new parts of myself – it’s a creative journey that feels truly original.” This season, expect playful, distinctive designs that reflect thoughtful craftsmanship and sustainable values.

Ernesto Narano

Spanish designer Ernesto Naranjo launched his namesake label in 2018 after winning the Mercedes Benz Fashion Talent award at Madrid Fashion Week. Previously, he honed his skills at Maison Margiela working under former Creative Director, the legendary John Galliano. Committed to a fair and inclusive fashion landscape, Naranjo values environmental responsibility and ethical production – his collections are crafted in southern Spain, collaborating with local artisans and skilled seamstresses. By embracing his roots, Naranjo blends his international experience with Spain’s rich textile heritage, resulting in thoughtfully designed pieces. Ernesto Naranjo AW25 promises understated yet visually captivating designs that honor the tension between heritage and modernity.

MAISON MOONSIEUR

Barcelona-based MAISON MOONSIEUR has become renowned for its strikingly brutalist aesthetic. Under the direction of Marc Saez, the label consistently delivers boldly architectural designs that reinterpret traditional aesthetics through a contemporary lens. With each collection, Saez blends structural elements and innovative silhouettes to create pieces that are both thought-provoking and visually captivating. This season, expect a collection that meets at the intersection of edge and elegance. Recognised by Vogue Portugal and Numéro, MAISON MOONSIEUR continues to make waves in the fashion world.

404 Studio

404 Studio is a womenswear brand that fuses craftsmanship and popular culture, drawing on cult classics like David Lynch’s Twin Peaks and Iain Softley’s Hackers. Renowned for its innovative knitwear, the label reinvents traditional designs with a bold perspective, offering statements that ground themselves as valuable and unique in an over-saturated industry. Each collection features collaborations with artists, including Alex Marco and Lucía Blas, highlighting the brand’s commitment to creative collaboration. Look out for intricate designs that offer a lively spirit – injecting a much-needed sense of fun into contemporary fashion.
