Sub-zero temperatures might have tried to humble New York Fashion Week, but the city’s showgoers treated frostbite like a styling challenge. In a season defined by practical layering, the pavements became a study in controlled contrast: technicolour faux fur thrown over stripped-back basics, shock flashes of teal and turquoise cutting through slate-grey skies, and a uniform of black leather jackets tough enough to withstand both wind chill and front-row scrutiny.
Tartan became a familiar thread, wrapped as blanket-style skirts and tailored into sharp coats, reinforcing a mood that felt equally frayed and frostbite-fighting. Even in below-freezing, NYFW street style made the argument if you’re going to bundle up, you might as well do it with colour, comfort, and creativity.
