In the fashion industry, it’s often difficult to strike a healthy balance between work and leisure, something that Copenhagen’s AW24 class of designers made sure to highlight this season. STAMM sent models down the runway in eye masks and towels to the backdrop of spoken word, VAIN explored the absurdities of mixing our passions with hard work and GANNI, known for closing each season, took a well-deserved break, handing over the baton to the next generation of Scandi talent with their Future Talent Fabrics exhibition.
“In the past 10 years of showing in Copenhagen, we have received so much love, and so we wanted to give some of that love back by supporting and elevating the next generation of creatives.” Says Ditte Reffstrup, Creative Director at Ganni.
Among the bustling schedule, CPHFW offered attendees a welcome intermission with its Creator Hub. Located in the heart of the city, the Hub, similar to GANNI’s Future Talent Exhibit, celebrates the content creators integral to Nordic’s favourite fashion affair. As well as championing their creativity, the space encourages guests to pause, reset and take a deep breath.

The BRICKS team kicked off day two of the schedule with a morning wellness session led by yoga instructor Clara Svane and official Copenhagen Fashion Week sponsor Dyson, shedding light on how to maintain inner peace during hectic itineraries and the travel chaos fashion week attendees know all too well.
The meditation class began with a focus on the often neglected nervous system. Svane reminded us that breathwork is a free coping mechanism available to anyone at any time of the day and emphasized the importance of putting yourself first: “Sometimes as human beings, we have to fill up our own cup before holding space for others.”

Our body reacts with sympathetic responses such as rapid breathing and anxiety. If we are aware of our nervous system, we can choose to react with a parasympathetic response and be more attuned to our physical needs, allowing us to relax in order to sleep and better digest the world around us.
Svane points out that despite the high levels of stress during this season, we can stay sane while working under pressure using the simple techniques she shared. The meditation exercises guided us through breath work, and emphasized that being in control of your breath means no one can steal your peace. We’ll definitely keep that in mind next time we find ourselves squeezing into another packed fashion show.

Additionally, the program featured a Skin Style Masterclass hosted by The Ordinary’s cosmetic scientists, teaching attendees how to build a regimen to support their skin’s style through product education.
The day wrapped with the Official Creator Hub Party, welcoming the Nordic and International creative community with open arms, and of course a bottle of Kronenbourg 1664.
