Last night, Wednesday 31st July, the BRICKS community gathered at Mama Shelter Shoreditch for a sun-filled and fun-filled evening celebrating the summer and BRICKS latest issue, #13 The ‘Be Tender’ Issue.
DJ Basti started off the evening as guests were treated to a delicious selection of cocktails courtesy of Hoxton Spirits, including a refreshing Hoxton London Spritz, a juicy Hoxton Banana Daiquiri and a tangy Hoxton Picante.
Mama Shelter opened the doors to its Garden Bar for the evening, offering an open-air space for the BRICKS’ creative community to enjoy the summer heat while browsing the issue and enjoying the bar’s selection of vintage arcade games. Guests included artist Dakota Schiffer, musician and BRICKS digital cover star Baby Queen, illustrator Bee Illustrates, and musician, viral makeup artist and BRICKS digital cover star Abby Roberts with her sister Charlotte Roberts.
“It’s heart-warming for us to see so many BRICKS community members here this evening, from those who have featured in the issue and on the cover to those who have contributed to an issue and supported us since the very beginning,” says BRICKS deputy editor Madeline Reid. “I’m grateful to Mama Shelter and Hoxton Spirits for providing us with a space to connect our community. I am so inspired by the creativity in this room and even more so at the camaraderie and support shared among our readers, contributors and cover stars.”
Later in the evening, drag artist and BRICKS digital cover star Bimini Bon Boulash took to the DJ decks for a surprise set fit for a brat summer.
