The BRICKS Podcast Launches First Episode with Sasha Velour and Allie X

Craving more from our Rise Together cover stars Sasha Velour and Allie X? Well you’re in luck, as today we launch our first episode of the BRICKS podcast exclusively for community members. Until Monday, you can trial our community membership for free for 30 days.

Over the years, across both print and digital, we’ve aimed to shine a light and support the individuals that mainstream media too often ignores and highlight talent that work alongside us to provoke positive change. As a community, we’re super excited to have this podcast as another outlet to share some of the amazing stories and conversations we have with our creatives and talent.

In the first instalment of this special two-part launch episode, Allie interviews Sasha over the phone to discuss the many faces of beauty, the parallels between the music industry and drag, and how theatre transcends barriers across the globe. If you enjoy this conversation, you can also purchase an affordable, digital copy of our Rise Together issue on our website, which features both Allie X and Sasha Velour, or read their interviews online now.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we understand this is a precarious time for independent journalism. The majority of our revenue comes from our bi-monthly panel discussions, parties and IRL activations. Now, we need your support more than ever. We’ve never wanted to put up a hard paywall as we believe that everyone who shares their voice with us, should be open to our global audience. We also believe young working-class people deserve access to meaningful journalism.

By becoming a BRICKS community member, not only will it ensure our online content is still accessible to everyone, it will help protect our future, during and beyond the global Coronavirus pandemic.
